Law Firm of the Year: The Nordics
For Copenhagen-headquartered Kromann Reumert, 2017 was all about digital focus, from technology investment – including a new knowledge platform – to online dispute resolution. Kromann Reumert now offers a panoply of online tools to clients, but the firm has also put time and effort into developing not only a career plan for each of its professionals, but has also ensured this is delivered seamlessly on an online platform, the first of its kind in the Danish legal market.
With a turnover in excess of EUR100m and 285 lawyers, Kromann Reumert has quietly dominated the Danish market for years. But 2017 saw the firm continue to invest overseas, having opened in London in 2016 – the only Danish law firm in the UK. The firm continued to consolidate its 2016 opening in London with a focus on developing private equity and bank relationships in addition to existing Danish clients with interests in the UK. The judges praised Kromann Reumert’s ‘sophisticated’ development and talent management programme, adding, noting the firm’s ‘impressive turnover and year on year growth. The number of organisational developments undertaken in the year was substantial and showed a clear drive to improve the client experience.’
