Warsaw-based Maruta Wachta wins at The Lawyer European Awards for the second year running following a stellar set of growth figures, repeating its 2017 turnover increase of nearly 50 per cent in 2018. With clients that include the biggest energy groups in Poland, including RWE/Innogy, PGE and Energa; three of the biggest mobile operators including Orange and Polkmotel; and a raft of insurers, top retailers and IT companies, Maruta Wachta has established itself as an independent powerhouse in Poland.

The firm has recently bolstered its sector specialism by further investing in corporate and litigation capability, and it has reaped the benefits of partnership with universities by attracting top talent, an initiative praised by the judges, who also commended its ‘very strong financials’ and ‘impressive growth and client list, one to watch for the future’.
Highly commended: Wolf TheissCentral European heavyweight Wolf Theiss, bolstered its bench in Warsaw, Prague and Budapest with notable lateral hires in 2017-18, and continued to work on many of the region’s top deals. The judges noted its strong showing on diversity and praised its mature initiatives on culture and development.
