Most innovative technology initiative
Norton Rose Fulbright
This year’s tech initiative award goes to Norton Rose Fulbright for its contract automation system N-Accelerate. N-Accelerate includes people, process and technology, improves the efficiency within the workflow of complex documents such as Loan Market Association templates for banking and related transactions and creates numerous benefits, including document automation at ten times the speed of the normal process, saving costs for the client. Entirely developed in-house, the project was led by a senior associate from Frankfurt, Bernhard Fiedler and included processing bilingual (German- and English-language) LMA-based facilities agreements among others. The judges commended the scope of NRF’s document automation project and the ‘impressive efficiency gains’.
Highly commended: McCann Fitzgerald
In the past year McCann Fitzgerald has created a wholly-owned, tech-led legal services business division and has partnered with Neota Logic to do so. Launches have included apps for GDPR gap analysis, credit reporting compliance and a director compliance statement. ‘The value-add to the clients is very important,’ commented the judges, who also praised the McCann Fitzgerald app hackathons.
